From the combat field to the field hospital.....
From combat casualty care to critical care medicine......

The battlefield has changed
Casualty levels of peer-to-peer combat have exploded to WWI levels due to transparency of the battlefield and low-cost precision munitions. Meanwhile, primary and secondary care facilities lack the surge capacity to handle mass casualties with the highest levels of care. Consequently, it is imperative to advance the effectiveness of combat casualty care through breakthrough medicine that mitigates the post-surgical complications that result in high levels of morbidity and mortality. Thereby, the currently frequent, extended, labor intensive, expensive ICU and long-term care requirements of severe trauma patients can be overcome.
